Come be part of making Christmas special this year for a family in need as we collect, sort and distribute toys to children in Washington County.
In a typical year, The Salvation Army puts new clothes and toys under the tree for one million children who usually must go without Christmas gifts. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels,” and businesses host trees and collect toys. Here in Washington County, we will provide Christmas gifts for 400–500 families. We rely on volunteers to help us sort thousands of new toys according to age group and type, as well as package them for each family to receive. **Each shift will begin with a brief orientation and training.** December 14th, 15th and 18th Volunteers will help us sort thousands of toys and package them for families to receive. It is an experience you will remember as we go through the bounty of toys and gifts that come in from all over the community. December 19th, DISTRIBUTION DAY Each family is given an appointment time. As people come to receive their gifts, volunteers welcome them upon arrival, check people in, distribute gifts, help carry presents to vehicles, and share Christmas joy.
Come ready to have fun and embrace the holiday season, we will have coffee and treats for you.
