Every year, Forest Park Conservancy cuts back the excess spring growth along the trails corridor in order to ensure the trails are safe and passable. This work prevents erosion and keeps the trails stable year round.
Volunteers will use hand tools to trim excess growth and rake the organic matter from the trail surfaces.
FPC will provide training, tools, materials, snacks, coffee, water, and gloves. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, and closed-toe shoes, and bring any medications, sunscreen, or bug spray you may need. Additionally, we strongly encourage you to bring your thermos and water bottle while hiking in the forest to limit waste.
Guided by the Greater Forest Park Conservation Initiative, the Forest Park Conservancy maintains trails, restores native habitat, and inspires community appreciation and future stewardship for generations to come.
