Portland Backpack is about more than food: we want to let kids know that their community cares about them. In this activity, we'll make care cards with art, stickers, and colorful messages of encouragement and belonging to tuck into our kids' food sacks. (This is a virtual activity.)
Care cards are love notes that are tucked into the food sacks. They give a personalized message of encouragement and belonging that all kids appreciate. You can use blank index cards 4x6 inches or smaller. Or, create your own cards by cutting 1/4 sheet of card stock. Decorate with art, stickers, and colorful messages. Completed care cards will be mailed to the Portland Backpack office. Check out care cards made by other volunteers here: https://www.portlandbackpack.com/card-card-ideas
