Bring in your new, unassembled furniture donations and work as a team to put them together for our neighbors in need!
Community Warehouse will host but the furniture will be purchased by the participating group. *We do have linted funds to purchase furniture for these events, please specify which option you are interested in when reaching out* Business or groups will work with their members to gather funds and purchase new, in demand furniture items such as book shelves, desks, dressers, coffee tables, and night stands/side tables. Then they coordinate with Caty, our Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator, to schedule a time to come into the warehouse and assemble the items for clients to take home. This activity can currently be scheduled weekdays starting at 4:00 pm or Saturdays with enough advanced notice. Email caty@communitywarehouse.org to get started!
Layer and dress appropriately for the weather as the warehouse does not have HVAC. Wear closed toe shoes. Volunteers are welcome to bring snacks and drinks for their group to enjoy.
Community Warehouse is your friendly local furniture bank, serving the Portland area for the past 20 years. How does a furniture bank work? We collect donated home goods and work with social service agencies to get those goods in the hands of those who need it most. At Community Warehouse, it’s the simple stuff – the extra dishes, towels, beds, and tables – that transforms homes and lives.
