In an effort to keep our community healthy and safe, please keep these tips in mind while preparing burritos for Do Good Multnomah: - Clean and sanitize your food preparation area prior to beginning any food prep. - Use separate cutting boards and knives for raw meats, poultry and fish and keep those items away from other foods (cooked or uncooked). - Wash your hands before prepping food and after handling raw meat, poultry or fish. - Do not store raw meats over or near prepared or ready-to-eat foods in the refrigerator. - Do not allow food to sit out without temperature control tools for more than 2 hours. - Please transport the food in a covered container/dish to prevent contamination. - Cold foods should be kept in a cooler with ice or gel packs to keep the foods cold during transportation. - Please label (or provide) ingredient info, and mark whether meals are Meat, Vegetarian, or Vegan.
Do Good Multnomah supports Veteran-centered communities that inspire dignity, sustainability, and purpose. We are a non-profit organization that partners with the community to provide permanent supportive housing and low-barrier emergency shelter to houseless Veterans in Portland, Oregon. We emphasize relationship-building, one-on-one engagement, supportive services, and direct community participation, changing the way we serve houseless Veterans. While we are committed to providing Veterans with a safe, warm place to stay for the night, we are equally interested in forging meaningful relationships with them. These bonds allow for our staff to serve as mediators and connectors between Veterans and the variety of Veteran service organizations in Portland.
Throughout the year, our team needs volunteer help with special projects and events. From deep cleaning projects to garden overhaul days, preparing meals for our programs, or supporting us at our next fundraising or community event, join us when your schedule allows. Do Good encourages companies and organizations to sponsor meaningful group events, such as hygiene or welcome home kit assembly parties or hosting a donation drive.
