Lan Su Chinese Garden is one of Portland's treasures - a powerfully inspiring experience that takes you through time, offering a window into Chinese culture, history, and way of thinking. Opened in 2000, Lan Su is an authentic Suzhou-style classical Chinese garden with over 300 species of Chinese cultivar plants. Architecture, stone, water, and poetry complete the garden. Built with materials directly from China by Chinese garden designers and artisans, it is an oasis of nature and tranquility in the midst of the city. Lan Su is open 7 days a week for visitors to enjoy. Join our volunteer team committed to creating memorable experiences for our visitors.
Volunteers support every area of operations at Lan Su from horticulture support, facilities support, event support, and tour guides. When volunteer groups come we are able to accomplish larger projects around the garden, and prepare for large festival celebrations.
