NAMI Southwest Washington invites you to play an important role in its 2023 NAMIWalks. Proceeds from the annual Walk help us provide FREE community mental health education, support, and advocacy programs for families and individuals impacted by mental illness as well as training and presentations for the schools, workplaces, faith communities, and neighborhoods that support them. If you're looking for a rewarding and fun way to support the mission and work of NAMI Southwest Washington, volunteering with NAMIWalks is a perfect way to make an impact. Your help makes it possible for us expand our outreach in the community. We are looking for volunteers to assist on Walk Day, Saturday, June 3rd, 2023.
Opportunities and responsibilities will vary on walk day, but can include helping staff with event set-up/clean-up, direct and register participants, distributing water/snacks, provide a presence along walking path and in parking areas, and assist staff in any other necessary duties.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing/shoes appropriate for walking.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, of Southwest Washington (NAMI SW WA) is dedicated to helping all people affected by mental illness through education, support, awareness, and advocacy. Our service area is Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties in Washington State with an office in Vancouver. Through our mission, we provide unique mental health services that are unavailable or inaccessible elsewhere for individuals and families affected by mental health issues through education, support, and advocacy.
Volunteers can help support our mission by providing support on event days - our big event coming up is our NAMIWalks. We also seek volunteers to participate in our community presentations and facilitate support groups.
