Provide pre-packaged snacks and sandwich ingredients for families staying at the Family Village shelter
Families staying in Family Village at Path Home are always on the move! To support them, we provide sandwiches and individually packaged snacks that are easy to grab on the way to school, work, or even for a late-night bite. We welcome donations of snack items in their original bulk packaging, along with sandwich ingredients to serve 30 people. A typical donation includes three to four loaves of commercially baked bread, peanut butter and jelly for 15 sandwiches, and deli meat with sliced cheese for another 15 sandwiches. Families generally prefer white bread over wheat or nutty varieties. Path Home staff will prepare the sandwiches using your generous donations and keep the Grab & Go fridge stocked with both sandwiches and snack items, ensuring families have quick and convenient meal options. Here are some ideas for Grab n Go items: String cheese Yogurt cups or pouches Hummus and pretzel cups Fresh fruit cups Baby carrots Guacamole cups Cheese and cracker snack packs Smoothie pouches Tuna or chicken salad snack packs Granola bars Trail mix packs Fruit snacks Crackers (e.g., cheese or peanut butter-filled) Popcorn bags Pretzel packs Applesauce pouches Dried fruit packs Nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts) Protein bars Rice Krispies Treats Cookies (single-serve packs) Beef jerky sticks Pudding cups Frozen breakfast items Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support—your contributions make a meaningful difference!

Path Home's mission is to empower homeless families with children to get back into housing – and stay there. Path Home operates four main programs: - __Economic Empowerment:__ Worldwide research shows the fastest way to end poverty for people is by giving people cash and letting them manage their household expenses. Path Home is engaging in a cash transfer pilot project where families receive $575 cash once a month for two years. - __Homeless Prevention:__ Families who are about to lose their housing get to keep their housing and never have to experience homelessness in the first place. - __Rapid Re-Housing:__ Families experiencing homelessness move back into housing as quickly as possible and receive case management and financial support to keep their housing. 88% of families keep housing long term. - __Family Village:__ An emergency shelter for up to 17 families with children at a time (60-80 people); Family Village is the first shelter of its kind in Oregon designed using trauma informed design and architecture, which aims to build dignity, restore power, and promote autonomy.
On a daily basis, Path Home volunteers contribute to that sense of community for families. The purpose of the Volunteer Program is to help Path Home accomplish and enhance our mission. We offer meaningful opportunities for community members to join us in our work. We are currently accepting new volunteers for the following positions: Grounds Crew, Weekend Meal Providers, Grab n Go Food Providers, Kitchen Helpers, Deep Cleaning, PlaySpace
